It's quite a broken workflow for many jobs to simply ask buyers to base selection decisions only on online messaging and pictures without on-site inspection and discussions. It's not how most real-world jobs were performed and I hope Redbeacon can revise this faulty workflow. If the providers and buyers are all good users of the community, both will ensure to use the system to record the transaction - so not allowing buyers to contact providers and vice versa for a more detailed Q&A or on-site estimate is counter-intuitive.

A request is a lot of work, just knowing the handymans in the area and their rates would help people decide if they even want to submi t a request.

The concept whereby a potential client specifies a date and time to have something completed, when the provider has a little text information at best,
and then the provider has to quote a dollar amount and date and time when you don't even know for a few days whether you've been selected, means the provider has to hold a time slot, maybe a whole day open in their future schedule "just in case" some requester accepts a quote,

Forgive me, it's all kind of weird. I don't get this format of back and forth unless I merely quote an hourly rate and an in initial service charge just to come out and "take a look" to try and decifer what the h the customer is talking about.

This all smacks of a format where the client is going to accept the low bid every time and that's just begging for trouble for both parties.

And I may respond to another few requests.

There exists a global service www.gango.com - this Swiss based company operates in stealth mode and does not receive the sexy buzz you guys do - congrats BTW - but their matchmaking algorithms are smart and scale globally, also their implementation of payment and revenue sharing is awesome. First take Switzerland then you take the world ;-)

Not post my job on craigslist and then mask the bids as if you've generated them yourself. If I wanted to request quotes from freelancers on craigslist I would do it myself.

Add ability to say company is an internet company/service and there are no true set hours. This could be an option within the hours selection area.

I had work done by a provider yesterday. The work was not high quality, took much longer than expected, and ultimately I had to redo much of it by hand last night. That being said, I discovered a personal connection with the person doing the work. It turns out that their family knows my family and so on a ways back. It's important to me to leave feedback so others don't hire this person for the type of work he did for me (I suspect the work he took on was not his normal cup of tea). However, if I leave feedback now, for him, on the job he just did, it will cause offense and social complications. So, I'm wondering if you could do a favor to all us passive-aggressives, and allow us to submit feedback on a provider that the provider themselves cannot see?

I was ready to sign up, but I do not agree with your terms of service. Specifically, I do not agree with the fact that you can change the agreement at any time by posting changes to your website, w/o notifying me directly of changes and that I am solely responsible for regularly checking your website. I'm too busy to do that on a consistent basis and it gives you too much power to make changes to terms (e.g., commission rates) w/o my direction authorization or agreement.

It would be nice if providers could still look at ads even after they have expired and have a way to get in contact with someone live at redbeacon or even with the client directly. Otherwise, providers sometimes miss potential leads if they are away from a computer for prolonged days or if they forget to check into redbeacon periodically, for instance.

You may add additional skill profiles by logging into your Redbeacon account and clicking on the "Manage Profiles" tab. From there, you can create a new skill profile found in the menu on the left side of the page. This allows you to create different profiles that offer different services.
